Mr Chou made me feel comfortable from the start. He explained clearly and succinctly what was involved in my hip replacement. He came to see me before the procedure and was friendly and unhurried. I was worried about having a spinal anaesthetic plus sedation but he put my mind at rest and in fact I did not know a thing about it until I woke up in recovery. My pain was dealt with very well. My visit the day after surgery was friendly and again unhurried. I have recovered extremely well and at 6 weeks more or less back to normal. I can thoroughly recommend Mr Chou.
Just one thing, I would have liked to have known more about the implant from the start, so I could have been as well informed about it as I am now.

Mr Chou is, obviously, an extremely intelligent and competent man. He listened and understood my thoughts and feelings about my hip condition with openness and that I had made the correct decision in proceeding with the robot aided operation.
My consultation did not feel rushed and I was able to say all the things that I wanted to. He gave me great confidence.
The operation is a great success with my hip feeling stronger every day.

Pre and post operative care has been exemplary. Mr Chou answered all my questions and gave me confidence that my operation would be successful. He visited me at 9pm the night after my operation and assured me all had gone well, which I appreciated. Six weeks later, I’m pleased with my progress and the treatment I’ve received from Mr Chou.

Mr Chou is a dual fellowship trained Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon currently working as a full-time Consultant, at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. He specialises in hip and knee replacements as well as pelvic, acetabular and lower limb fracture surgery. In 2019 he was presented with the “You Made a Difference Award” at Addenbrookes Hospital for his dedication to patient care, improving patient pathways and supporting the multi-professional team.
After studying Medicine at University College London, he completed orthopaedic surgical training in London; where he gained experience at world-renowned hospitals. Mr Chou attained Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons in England and was awarded Certificate of Completion of Training. Since then, he has completed nearly two years of advanced senior fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee replacements at the Royal London Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. In addition, he has undertaken a further year of advanced senior fellowship training in pelvic and acetabular reconstruction at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. His dual training provides him with unique expertise to not only expertly perform primary hip and knee replacements; but he is also able to undertake the more complex surgeries and even the re-do operations for hip replacements that need revising.
